What is the condition?
Dermal fillers are injectable soft-tissue implants used for selected concerns such as facial lines or folds, loss of facial volume, lip, cheek, chin or hand volume, and some acne-scar indications.
The service name alone does not identify a diagnosis, material, brand or local authorisation; these are confirmed at consultation.12
How Skinfinity treats this concern
A qualified clinician may inject a verified filler using a syringe with a needle or a cannula (a blunt-tipped tube). Possible materials include hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid or PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), but no material, dose, injection plane, site or schedule should be assumed.
Before treatment, we verify the sealed packaging, manufacturer, lot and expiry, the product’s intended use, clinician credentials, the sterile set-up, your consent, follow-up and a rapid plan for suspected vascular occlusion (a filler blocking a blood vessel).
What we confirm with you before treatment
- Your diagnosis or treatment goal
- The filler material, brand and manufacturer
- Sealed packaging, lot number and expiry
- The product’s intended use and local authorisation
- Dose, injection plane, site and schedule
- Clinician credentials
- Sterile set-up and your written consent
- Follow-up and a rapid plan for suspected vascular occlusion
What outcome can you expect?
The intended outcome is a smoother or fuller appearance in a permitted treatment area.
How long it lasts, whether it can be reversed and the need for repeat treatment depend on the product, amount, site and patient; some products can be difficult or impossible to remove.
Results are not guaranteed, and this is not a permanent cure.12

Aftercare and long-term support
- Follow your written, product-specific aftercare and attend your review.
- Cold compresses may help swelling, but advice on pressure, massage, makeup, exercise, medicines and sleeping position is individualised.
- Contact your clinician for increasing pain, redness, drainage, fever, marked swelling or a new lump.
- Seek urgent care for severe or unusual pain, pale or blue skin, vision change, facial weakness, speech difficulty, severe headache, dizziness or confusion.
Suitability, limitations and safety
Filler injection is a medical procedure. It requires a licensed clinician with anatomy and complication-management training, aseptic technique, informed consent and emergency referral capability.
Risks include bruising, swelling, infection, allergy, nodules, granuloma, migration of the filler, tissue necrosis (tissue death) and accidental injection into a blood vessel causing skin damage, blindness or stroke.
Treatment is deferred if there is active infection. Please discuss bleeding disorders, severe allergies, medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding and any previous filler.
Online or unapproved products and injectable silicone should not be used, and fillers should not be used for breast or buttock enlargement.354
