Photofacial
Light-based treatment, often IPL, for selected brown spots, freckles, uneven tone, facial redness and small visible vessels.

Photofacial
The condition
May be considered for selected brown spots, freckles, uneven colour or tone, sun-related spots, facial redness or small visible blood vessels, after diagnosis. A suspicious lesion must be assessed before any cosmetic light treatment.
Skinfinity treatment
We may use a verified IPL photofacial device to deliver controlled light pulses that target selected pigment or redness. A photofacial may use IPL or another light device, so the filter, wavelength range, settings, cooling, eye protection and operator are confirmed with you. The name alone does not establish whether IPL or a laser is used.

What is the condition?
A photofacial is not a disease. It is a general cosmetic term often used for visible sun-related brown spots, freckles, uneven colour, facial redness or small visible blood vessels, and sometimes fine lines. These concerns may be considered for treatment after diagnosis.
A clinician should check any new, changing, unusual or suspicious spot before light treatment.
Our listing this service confirms that it is available, but the name does not by itself establish a diagnosis or a standardised medical indication. The evidence and its limits are summarised in the cited sources1234.
How Skinfinity treats this concern
We first check whether the visible redness, brown marks or uneven tone are suitable for light-based treatment.
A photofacial may use IPL (intense pulsed light) or another light device; the name alone does not establish whether IPL or a laser is used. The filter, wavelength range, settings, cooling, eye protection and operator are confirmed with you.
If our verified protocol uses an IPL photofacial device, the device delivers short pulses containing several visible-light wavelengths. Brown pigment or selected red vessels absorb some of the light and gradually change as the body clears the treated material. Cooling gel and protective eyewear may be used.
We adjust the settings to your skin colour, diagnosis and treatment area, and explain when IPL is not suitable — for example, with some melasma patterns or an undiagnosed changing mark.
The exact product, equipment, settings, route, number of visits and responsible clinician are explained and recorded during your consultation; they should not be inferred from the service name. Manufacturer instructions and applicable Indian and local regulatory requirements are checked before treatment.
What we confirm with you before treatment
- Whether IPL or another light device (or a laser) is used
- The filter and wavelength range
- The device settings
- The cooling method
- Eye protection
- The operator and responsible clinician, and their qualifications
- The exact product and equipment
- The treatment route
- The planned number of visits
- Manufacturer instructions for the device
- Applicable Indian and local regulatory requirements
- Device authorisation
- Licensed and trained personnel
- Informed consent, including alternatives, expected discomfort and costs
- Emergency care arrangements
What outcome can you expect?
The realistic goal is gradual improvement in selected brown or red marks and a more even-looking tone, with spots or redness becoming less noticeable. Some people notice a modest improvement in texture or fine lines.
Treated brown spots may look darker before they fade or flake. Results vary, and several visits may be proposed.
Ask us for a realistic, individualised plan rather than a guaranteed before-and-after promise. A photofacial cannot promise clear or younger-looking skin, removal of every mark, permanent prevention of ageing, or a cure for the cause of redness or pigmentation.
Where a condition may recur or continue, long-term management may be more important than a single cosmetic session.

Aftercare and long-term support
- Follow your written instructions, keep them safe and attend your follow-up.
- Use gentle care: a gentle cleanser and moisturiser if needed.
- Use strong sun protection: a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, with shade and protective clothing.
- Avoid rubbing, picking (including crusts), hot water, and new irritating or unapproved products until your skin is comfortable and you are advised.
- Contact your clinician for severe or worsening pain, blistering, marked swelling, pus, fever, worsening colour change or other signs of infection.
- Patient photographs or measurements are taken only with your consent, with privacy protection and in consistent conditions.
Suitability, limitations and safety
IPL or photofacial treatment requires careful assessment and screening of skin colour and skin type, recent tanning, the diagnosis, medicines (including photosensitising medicines), infection and sun exposure.
It may not suit some people with darker or recently tanned skin, melasma, active infection or photosensitivity.
Please tell your clinician about pregnancy, light-sensitive medicines, cold sores, pigment changes and any previous laser reactions.
Protective eyewear is required. Temporary redness, swelling, darkening, blistering, burns, light marks or scarring are possible.
Your provider should confirm their qualifications and review your medical history, medicines, allergies, pregnancy considerations and contraindications. We use licensed and trained personnel, an authorised device, eye protection and informed consent, with emergency care available. We use sterile technique and single-use components where relevant, protect your privacy, and document informed consent, alternatives, expected discomfort and costs.
We do not proceed with an unexplained lesion or hair-loss pattern until a qualified clinician has assessed it.
Contact the clinic promptly if symptoms worsen. Seek urgent medical care for breathing difficulty, severe pain, heavy bleeding, rapidly increasing swelling, neurological symptoms or other emergency signs.
We do not describe regenerative or stem-like treatments — including exosomes, Dutexomes, QR678, fillers and threads — as approved or proven without product- and country-specific verification.
