Microdermabrasion is not a disease or a diagnosis. It is a cosmetic exfoliation option for a dull or uneven surface, uneven tone, mild sun or age spots, enlarged-looking pores or blackheads, fine lines and some mild acne-scar changes.

How Skinfinity treats this concern
We use a verified microdermabrasion handpiece to gently exfoliate the uppermost layer of the skin. Depending on the equipment used, this may be a diamond-tip device or a crystal-and-suction system.
Your provider moves the handpiece over clean skin and adjusts the intensity to suit the area and your skin's sensitivity. The procedure usually feels like light scratching, vibration or suction and generally does not require an anaesthetic.
We will tell you which equipment is used and explain that this is surface exfoliation, not a deep scar-removal or disease-treatment procedure.

Aftercare and long-term support
- Use the advised moisturiser and protect your skin from sunlight with shade, clothing and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
- Avoid unnecessary heat, rubbing and irritating products until they are approved.
- Do not pick or scratch irritated skin.
- A simple long-term skin-care routine can support your skin's appearance, but it cannot stop ageing or guarantee lasting improvement.
- Contact the clinic for marked swelling, blistering, bleeding or severe pain.
Suitability, limitations and safety
Microdermabrasion may not be suitable over active infection, inflamed acne, eczema, psoriasis, open skin, very sensitive skin or a changing or bleeding mole.
Please tell your clinician about isotretinoin or other acne medicines, allergies, cold sores, keloids and any previous pigment changes.
Temporary redness, dryness, sensitivity, bruising or darkening can occur.
This treatment is surface exfoliation and should not replace medical assessment of a persistent skin problem.
